Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine a class filled with energetic, high-spirited, and hardworking individuals. I have a diverse class and my students have curious minds and are always eager to learn new things.
My students love challenges, experiments, and engineering activities.
They are kind and loving individuals who work together in making our classroom community a better one every single day. They always boost each other up and make learning fun and memorable for one another. What makes my class special is that you see a bunch of kids wanting to learn and who will work hard to do it.
My Project
My students enjoy sitting on a special chair for conferencing. They are motivated to write and feel very special to meet with the teacher for writing consultation. Our special conference chair got broken and while this special chair became a very important motivational piece, students don't seem to be focused and excited about their writing since. We are asking for a special chair to use as a conference chair for writing and for presentations of their work. Along with the special chair, we are also asking for storage bins to help store our books that won't fit inside their desks. Students often struggle to focus in class when there's a lot of clutter so the bins will help students to concentrate with their tasks better. Lastly, we are asking for presentation pointer to specify the focus of their presentations. The materials that we are requesting will help our students to focus better with their tasks, present and highlight information clearly, and organize their materials for easy access and better concentration.
Keeping up with 21st century learning is challenging but providing the students the resources to be successful is necessary for their growth mindset!
