My Project
My students this year have been absolute rock stars when it comes to being kind to each other, showing respect to each other, themselves, and their teachers, and taking care of their supplies. However, even after having an amazing class, there are some supplies that need to be restocked and upgraded for next year's students.
The supplies in this project will be used next year to ensure that my new students have what they need to be successful and have a great time learning!
One of my most favorite items on this list is the Colors of the World markers. We have a very diverse school, and it is important for all of the students to have access to materials that reflect their identities in multiple ways. We do a lot of coloring in 2nd grade, and these markers will allow the students to represent themselves, their families, and their friends in an accurate and meaningful way.
We also use a lot of different supplies, so some items, like the cart, will help to organize the materials and make sure the students have access to whatever they need in the classroom at any given time.
There are also items like the squishies that will be used for our prize box that the students get to choose from when they turn in their Class Dojo points at the end of each week. Having fun and relevant prizes is really important because it provides motivation for the students!
Also in this project are a new stock of name tags and clothespins, which are used for our class jobs chart. It is important for each student to have the opportunity to contribute to our classroom community in a meaningful way, and practice responsibility.
