Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have students from many different backgrounds and cultures in my classroom. I think they will feel more represented if I add props and materials that gives them some sense of belonging. Having multicultural clothing and food will make them feel like they are home. Career clothes and pretend play gym equipment will also represent maybe what their families do for a living or what they can become when they grow up.
I think having a positive sense of self, feeling secured and represented, and having a healthy self-esteem is very important for the overall development of a child.
