My Students

Hi, my class consists of 31 aspiring students with many diverse backgrounds adding to the class as a whole. Our school is 100% economically disadvantaged, with most students using the free lunch and breakfast programs.

Our classroom environment has a competitive team spirit, always striving to learn more while supporting one another.

Their independent thinking minds never cease to question, and finding the answers with them is what brings me personal satisfaction when teaching.

Bottom line these students are a great group of kids that want to be in school and will appreciate any donations that will help further their learning opportunities.

My Project

These materials will allow us to further catch up in mathematics, reading, writing, and science after the toll of the Covid-19 pandemic. Most of these items I pay for out of pocket regularly, so any help to stock up is greatly appreciated. I find the students really bond as a class when we read a class book together (complete with voice accents for all characters) and our current go-to favorite book classroom set, Chomp, has seen better days after years of use. That is why I am asking for a new class set. The electrical materials will be used in a project we do every year where students build a room and have a make-believe budget to shop with to decorate it. They shop online, keeping a budget with tax in mind. Those items are recreated with paper/cardboard as a miniature model, labeled in two languages. They also apply what they learn about electricity by wiring a light in the room and labeling the parts. The buzzers add to the excitement of competition when reviewing before tests. The record player is in response to their curiosity over them in a lit anthology story we read each year. I would like to use it to play jazz/classical music each morning while they eat breakfast in class and do their bell work.
