My Project

My students love to read, and they love to leave their seats during the read-aloud for my mini-lessons! I'd love to give them a place where they feel comfortable gathering together to read, or to listen to a teacher-directed lesson with their reader's notebooks. Having a comfortable space where students can escape from the consistent desk seat, allows students to enjoy a mini-lesson in a new setting, or get comfortable and fall in love with a book club novel. Right now, students only have the ability to sit at their desks, or on the ground. My goals for this project are to give students additional support during independent or book club reading, and mini-lesson instruction. This will help foster classroom engagement, and reading encouragement, and support students who need flexible seating.
