My Project
As a Title I school one of our initiatives is to create positive, rewarding classrooms built on 3 school wide rules. Students can earn compliments from other adults for positive behavior, effort, or achievements. Students collect compliments which turn into stars that would fill up their class jar. The class then turns their stars in for rewards like small prizes, extra recess, or homework passes. Additionally, the class can work towards a collective goal to earn a class reward, such as a movie day or special activity. The focus on positive reinforcement, and make the system inclusive so all students feel valued.
