Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is a unique public Montessori magnet school in a large high needs urban school district. My school is dedicated to providing a safe, stimulating, and peaceful environment for our scholars. We are a Title I school in which all of our scholars receive free-reduced lunches.

My kids are independent hard workers.

My kids range from the age of 4 to age 6 and stay with me for two consecutive years. They are taught at a very early age how to manage their own work and get things done independently. I love that I get the chance to work with each student individually every day while others are working by themselves or helping other children.

My Project

It is time that my students have the opportunity to have live animals in the classroom. Dwarf frogs and Beta fish will be a great attraction to our cultural area of our classroom. We study amphibians and other animals each year and adding the live animals will just make the area come to life!

These live animals will bring so much enjoyment to our room!

My students will be able to not only observe them daily, but the animals will give us a chance to learn more specifically about and care for these two beautiful animals on a daily basis.
