This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
“It shouldn’t matter how slowly a child learns, as long as we are encouraging them not to stop”—Robert John Meehan
My students are a diverse bunch eager to learn and enthusiastic to step into the classroom.
They come from different backgrounds in a low socio-economic community where many of them arrive at 7:00 in the morning and do not leave until 6:30 in the evening. When they step into my classroom, I want them to forget their worries and focus on their studies. This can sometimes be hard, especially during this time when students are concerned about parents going out to work and not returning at the end of the night.
My Project
With these items, I will be able to provide my students with a classroom that is ready for learning to take place.
With these materials, I will be able to stay organized and focused on the materials and instructions to make learning fun and engaging and give my class the best of me.
Organization is the primary tool necessary for success. I strive to teach my students to keep their notes and materials organized. I need to set the example of what organization looks like. My students will have easy access to all necessary materials and be prepared to work.
