My Project

One of the skills students are learning in first grade is organization. I want to help them be able to do this by having chair pockets to hold supplies, which will allow them to be more aware and effective with their time learning.

First graders go through a lot of pencils, and I hope to have many pencils available for them to use as well as a pencil holder on their desk that will allow them to better keep track of that tool.

Water bottles help to reduce the need to leave the classroom during instruction and learning time.

First grade is an important time where students are learning important skills while also becoming more independent. Having a large visual timer will help them know how much time is left during a portion of the day and can assist them in gaining more confidence and independence in taking charge of their own learning during a time where they are given that freedom. Not only that, but being able to have clear organization boxes for each month of the school year will help me as a teacher be more organized and prepared to teach my students what they need to know. I have felt more successful as an educator when I am organized and hope to instill that in my students as well.
