This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very energetic 7- and 8-year-olds who are excited about learning. They love to read and write and engage in conversations with their peers. They are eager to read both literature and nonfiction and write about what they’ve read. Many of my students began elementary school without foundational reading skills, but they have been working hard to attain grade-level standards. Most of my students are second language learners. Reading in the classroom is essential to their continued success!
My Project
My students love to read! They are an energetic group of second graders that eagerly read books every chance they get! It is very important that my students are able to read out loud since they are still learning how to properly pronounce words and to build their fluency. It is also important that I am able to hear and monitor how my students are reading. In a small classroom that is full of excited readers, it is often hard to hear students reading. It can also be hard for students to concentrate when everyone is reading out loud. These devices will help with these issues!
