Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I am excited to be in a 2-3 multi-age classroom. My students come from diverse backgrounds and each one brings a unique strength to share and make our classroom a true learning hub.
We are a Title I school.
Most of my students are eligible for free and reduced lunch. They are eager and curious learners who look forward to coming to school everyday and applying themselves to new learning. I am very excited this year for my students as they learn to use technology to do research on various topics such as Animal Habitat and Adaptations. They will learn about primary sources and secondary sources and how to cite mentor work. Furthermore, this year we are launching our new science curriculum - Project Lead The Way, which is a comprehensive curriculum that will prepare my students as they move up the grades.
This year is full of new learning and new beginnings!
My Project
My students are the best! They are eager and curious to learn. That is the reason I call them Mindful Thinkers! They are amazing writers. They enjoy debating on topics such as - what are the benefits of homework, and they discuss how better they can conserve water, and save our environment. During math they tackle numberless problems, and estimate how many marbles in a jar. Science and social studies is their favorite part of the day. They learned the life cycle of a butterfly and during Hispanic Heritage month they read about great role models like Frida Kahlo and Cesar Chavez.
These amazing group of students need tables to sit around and collaborate with their peers during science experiments, math tasks, and writing projects.
The tables in our room are old, dented and wobbly. Your kind and generous donation will help us get these new clean tables!
