Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All students are able learn. Within my first grade classroom, students have a wide variety of abilities. This school year there are 25 students in our class. Our school is a great learning environment where students prosper. Our academic community is continuously growing and focuses on achieving higher expectations.
Building a strong student community is important part of learning growth!
With that being said, our school promotes a variety of activities that will help to strengthen community, core concepts and fundamentals. Morning meetings and whole group lessons are some key tools in promoting this growth. We are continuously evolving and looking for the best resources to help our students reach their maximum potential.
My Project
As a first year teacher, I want to provide my students with a community learning area where we can come together as a class. We spend a lot of time together. I like to say that we become a school family. Having a place where we can meet as a whole group and share out our thoughts and assignments is a key point in coming together.
Having a strong sense of community within the classroom can cause students to become more comfortable and confident.
I feel that the Bully Free Classroom Rug can assist in academics because they will want to share their ideas and class work more often. No matter the student or their background, their voice should be heard. Having a space where we are able to meet and discuss our thoughts and work samples is an essential part of academic growth.
