As a first year teacher, I want to provide my students with a community learning area where we can come together as a class. We spend a lot of time together. I like to say that we become a school family. Having a place where we can meet as a whole group and share out our thoughts and assignments is a key point in coming together. Having a strong sense of community within the classroom can cause students to become more comfortable and confident. I feel that the Bully Free Classroom Rug can assist in academics because they will want to share their ideas and class work more often. No matter the student or their background, their voice should be heard. Having a space where we are able to meet and discuss our thoughts and work samples is an essential part of academic growth.
