This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students beat the odds every single day. Most come from low-income housing. Most live in the Bronx. Most are either immigrants or first-generation Americans. Most try to make the best possible outcomes day in and day out. All of my students have so much potential to make incredible versions of themselves. I know that, even though they may have missed an assignment or had a rough start to their day, they are trying in the face of constant adversity to further their development. Others may see youth and think they have them all figured out because of how they look or present themselves. My students don't care, because they know themselves. Yet, through it all, they keep trying to force a future where they are thriving.
My Project
The headphones will be used by students in remote learning in order to ensure they have a working a microphone and headphones so that they listen and participate in class. Additionally, many of these items will be used for during class. Staples will be used to staple projects and other paper for students. All of these notebooks are for use by students in order for them to write down their notes during class. The folders are for students to use to be more organized and keep track of their notes. Additionally, the dry erase markers are for showing example and druing work on a whiteboard. Lastly, note cards will be crucial for students to study their notes.
