My Students

I have a class of 24 bright and eager 1st grade students eager to learn. Now that the end of the year is around the corner, it is important the students can begin reading silently and push them as much as possible. Getting more tools to help them improve will only give them a better chance.

My 24 1st grade students are eager to learn.

Every day I see my students excel in school and show me how much they love school. We are at a charter school that is only a few years old, and while it gives me many great opportunities it also limits supplies I can use. Any additional resources from this project will help with my students' growth.

My Project

My students read to themselves daily. We use this independent reading time to hone their skills, and get them ready to read silently. Ear phones that magnify their whispering will help them train to read more quietly, and eventually help them to read silently. The calendar will help them keep track of the school year and how to read dates.

This project will help my students still struggling to read silently.

Being able to have that skill is vital to their future academics. It will also lessen the distracting noise when 24 students read simultaneously, which will help the students focus on their books.
