This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a high poverty school, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch! I have high expectations that they will grow and learn beyond what is expected.
School is a safe and happy place for my students.
Each day, they come into the classroom excited about the day and spending time exploring and learning together. For many of my students, being at school is the best part of their day.
My Project
Classroom transformation help motivate the students with fun hands-on learning. Teacher Pay Teacher has a variety of printable material already made for first grade. This will allow me to just to print and make! (along with some themed decorations)
What kid doesn’t like the circus?
Especially when you set up a circus tent right outside your door! This classroom transformation includes math challenges that involves real popcorn! In this classroom transformation, the kids go around to each “circus performer” at our classroom circus and solve math challenges. I think that the students will really enjoy getting popcorn as a prize at the end of this room transformation! The students sure will work hard for it as well!
The package of material that I would like to be able to purchase through this project would have 40 different themed room transformations in it! WOW We can transform our room to the circus, to chefs, pirates, doctors, camping and many more. The package of materials will include everything that I will need to provide fun interactive learning for 40 different themes.
These fun themed challenges help make math memorable and meaningful as students learn to relate math to the real-world! Room transformations are great for first graders. Each challenge reviews an important skill that 1st grade students need to practice throughout the year.
