Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are so full of life and LOVE music class! They are so incredibly musical and talented. We would love to bring more instruments into the music classroom. Our school has a wide range of students from Pre-K through 8th grade, and so many of them are in love with the videos of Boomwhackers and other classroom instruments I've shown them! They are so excited about these instruments.

This will give students the opportunity to perform individually and work in collaborative groups.

I love that my students have a passion to learn music and be engaged!

My Project

We are so blessed to have so many instruments now for our music classroom - with shakers, and drums, triangles and everything! However, we have now have a new problem I didn't anticipate: storage!

Right now, everything is all jumbled up into one giant container and we really need more smaller, organized containers where things are easily accessible as classes transition.

I teach a wide range of students at our school, and we don't have a lot of time in between classes. It would make instrument sharing/transitioning so much smoother if we had these storage units. Also, we do not have a printer for the music room and it would be wonderful if we had our own so we can copy all of the many pieces of music we need for our choirs. I am also finding it difficult finding storage for all of the worksheets we do together as a class - these things will make sorting our student work so much easier. Thank you for reading and considering my project!
