My Project

My school-dependent Title I students are returning soon, and I need your help to give them a classroom that feels like home! After the pandemic decimated two full school years, learning loss and lack of motivation have gone hand in hand for my students. I am working hard to reverse that trend by creating an environment for them to learn in that is welcoming, engaging, bright, and reflective of their own identities and interests! I've built up a classroom library, spent time and energy decorating the walls and buying supplies for their writers' journals, and purchased small prizes and trinkets to help encourage engagement and participation, and it's working!

Last year my students increased their ACT Reading scores by 5% over the year before!

But, I need your help to continue to fund this welcoming, nurturing, exciting environment! The requested materials include bright, splashy posters that are inspriational and eye-catching, as well as small prizes like stickers, art supplies like washi tape and fun pens, and high-interest titles written for kids like them so they always have a good book to get lost in during independent reading.

Engaged , comfortable learners absorb and retain more content than bored, apathetic kids do, and with your help I can hook their interest, reel them in, and make this the best post-Covid year yet while we say "Good Bye!" to pandemic learning loss and "Hello" to RECOVERY MODE!
