The current library in my classroom has books that are not decodable, not on the appropriate level, and very old. Current reading research supports having a classroom library with decodable books sorted by skill (digraphs, short vowels, vowel teams, etc.) The books I am requesting through this project will allow me to do just that. They are decodable and broken down by skill, enabling me to create an effective and differentiated library. I am also requesting a rug to put in our library area to make the space feel more welcoming and inviting.
This project will help me create a library that will meet the needs of my young learners.
