This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am the ICT teacher of a diverse classroom of 5th grade students in the Bronx. My students are passionate about being active change-makers and leaders. We read books about many different identities, have deep discussions about the world around us, and brainstorm ways WE can be empowered to make change.
Having more books in our classroom that are relevant and represent them- are essential to our success as a community of leaders.
My students' experiences, identities, and passions are what makes doing this work so, extremely powerful and relatable.
