This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are aspiring leaders, intellectuals, and creative young people with limited access to current, high-interest, and diverse books. Your donations will help create a "book club" library, where students can read concurrently with their peers to create a community of readers with a passion for reading.
Our school is a public school in Los Angeles a can sometimes feel like a bit of a book desert.
Our student population is 99.9% students of color, and the vast majority are aspiring first-generation college students who need quality books that represent them. Great reading material can be frequently limited in supply, so consider helping to create access to books!
