This year, I am transitioning from grade 1 to grade 2. I have a majority of my students from last year joining me so I know their literacy needs. I have my high achievers and my below grade level readers. When I got to my new classroom, I found that I only have above grade level books. I need more for all to achieve, for all to find books to read independently. We read every day. We read to learn. We read for enjoyment. We also read for homework so more books is a must.
