Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful and very inquisitive! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects, and challenges! They come to school each day ready to learn and try new things to help them to grow both personally and academically. My students range from the beginning reader to the reader that is ready to take on a chapter book! We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are being met! I am so blessed and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn!

My Project

The requested books will be added to our classroom library collection and available for students to read anytime. My students will not have to wait to read books only when going to the library but they will be able to access books whenever the opportunity arises. I want my students to continue to have a love for books so, our library is in need of additional high interest, non-fiction titles. Being able to read an assortment of non-fiction texts on their level will give them the opportunities necessary that will allow them to be successful readers in elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and beyond.
