This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I’m moving to a new school this year and would love to expand my classroom library to promote and foster a love of reading in the classroom.

My new school has a small library with limited novels that are diverse in nature.

An expanded library would allow more of my students to, hopefully, find books that interest them. By fostering a love of reading, students will boost their confidence in the English/Language Arts classroom and also begin to improve their reading and writing scores.

My Project

I’m hoping to build up my classroom library to foster a love of reading. By providing high-interest novels, I hope to encourage and support all readers in my classroom.

My new school has a limited selection of diverse novels in the school library that I think would appeal to my students.

By building up our classroom library, students will be a step away from always having a book available to them.

We read every day, and having a classroom library will show my students that I support their reading goals while also showing them that I, too, am a reader.
