Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My class is full of energetic, bright, and eager to learn students. They love to be silly and have fun while learning! My students really enjoy reading for fun but continue to read the same books over and over! One of the only times I can get them quiet is when they are reading a good book! I have a very diverse set of students that all accept each other for their differences. They are very caring for each other and we have become a very close family of the course of the year.

My Project

With the addition of the books to my library I can help expand my kids love of reading! These titles offer a wide variety for my very diverse class. Many of my students continue to choose the same book to read because it is familiar or easy, I want to challenge my students to push their fluency and understanding of text. My students are very engaged in reading and I want to help them continue this love. With these books I can not help with reading but teach valuable lessons. I have picked books I know will interest them and will help push them as readers!
