Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work in a low socioeconomic community and at a Title 1 school. My 3rd graders are mostly English Learners and are struggling readers. Many lack reading materials at home, so they only read at school. This is why I plan to upgrade my class library to encourage even more in-class reading.

I am asking for Dave Pilkey books as my students are really interested in his books.

I am also asking for a Lakeshore Flex-Space Lounge & Learn Couch for Three to create a comfortable reading environment. The Really Good stuff library bins will be used to help organize our new books. All of these items will help upgrade my classroom library encouraging my students to read. The more they read in class will hopefully help them grow in their literacy skills.
