I am a first grade teacher at a wonderful school in rural Laurinburg, North Carolina. My first graders have a love for learning and reading. I would like to further their passion for both by including more nonfiction books in our classroom library. Some of the students' favorite topics we study are Egypt, Mexico, the American Revolution, Van Gogh, electricity, animal habitats, and the solar system. We have library books we can check out on those subjects, but none in our classroom library. I would love to purchase a few books on each of their favorite topics. I know that they would eagerly read and reread these books. It would provide them with an opportunity to further their reading skills and improve their content knowledge. The students would also be able to take them home to share with their families. The benefits it would provide my students would be priceless. Thank you!
