This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students this year have grown from children who didn't see the importance of reading a book from cover to cover to children who are reading books so quickly, I'm running out of books for them to read! At the beginning of the school year, they had no interest in going to the library once a week to check out books. Now, many of them visit the library multiple times a week because they've finished their books and are too eager for a new one to wait until Friday!

Multiple staff members have remarked on how refreshing it is to see my students walking back to class after a library visit with their books open, pages flipping as they excitedly devour their latest favorite texts!

I've chosen titles that are popular with my students and are in short supply in the school library. They are interested in reading all of the books in a series, so I chose treasured series that they can read starting from book one.
