Classroom Library Refresh

My students need a variety of reading material to focus on student interest, align with grade level Lexile levels, and connect with NGSS standards.

My Students

Our students are active, inquisitive and hardworking. With a class of diverse learners, our classroom library will be a venue for all students to find books at their interest, books at their Lexile level, and books that will spark interest in science, technology, engineering, math, literacy, art, and music. As my classroom library has been used over the years, a classroom library refresh will allow my classroom library to focus on student literacy and give students opportunities to read and learn along side their classmates.

My Project

My students come to school each day enthusiastic to learn. To support my students' passion for learning, I feel having a diverse classroom library will expose students to different types of literature, a range of Lexile levels and encourage an interest in science exploration.

Having classroom library focusing on the different content areas will allow students to expand their learning through independent reading exploration.

After years of student use, my classroom library books need to be refreshed. The addition of new books will allow me to fill my classroom library with books related to current student interest, current grade level Lexile levels, and better align class library books with current NGSS standards.
