This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help my students get more use out of our classroom library books.

My classroom is made up of multicultural students living along the Texas coast.

Our Title I school has a very high percentage of low socioeconomic families. In addition to these circumstances we are also experiencing huge budget cuts in our district.

My Project

Upon receiving these baskets my students and I will sort the books together and place them into the baskets according to genres, authors, etc. By having the children take part in categorizing the books it is my hope that they will do a better job of placing them back in the correct place after reading them.

As of now not many of my students read the books in our classroom library because they are in no certain order and difficult to get to.

I feel as though after students take part in placing the books into baskets according to genres, authors, etc, they will have more interest in visiting our classroom library.
