Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year we are embarking on our certification into International Baccalaureate (IB) certification. As such, we encourage students to think about and have questions about the world around them. I am revamping our classroom library with books that interest them and new furniture to make it more organized and inviting!

By helping us, you are helping a student build a love of reading.

Students practice reading to themselves by reading the pictures, words and retelling a story at the beginning of the year. We increase stamina by practicing and helping students with skills practice in whole group, mini lessons, and small group reading lessons with a teacher. Students have also learned and love to read to a buddy. By having more options to read from, you are helping to encourage our budding readers to expand their thinking and interests.
