I am a 3rd grade teacher. I have a passion for teaching and have taught in a 3rd grade classroom last year and again this year. I strongly feel reading is the most important tool a student can have. I hope to raise enough money to build my students a classroom library,
My students come from low income homes.
We are a Title I school and have limited funds. We are a college bound school and promote college from k-5th grade in our school. Our students hear and learn about college from the first day of school. Our students are excited to wear their classroom college colors on Fridays. They talk about college from day two on. The students are eager to learn and excited about school and college.
My Project
With a classroom library my students will be able to explore and learn from reading. My students will be able to practice reading and grow as readers throughout the year. Many students do not have any books at their home and this will give them a chance to read while at school during free time. Having a set of leveled readers books will help with guided reading, instruction, and give the students more reading materials to help them become efficient readers.
Donations for my project will help my students with reading.
Reading is the most important tool for a person to have. Providing my students with a classroom library will help them gain knowledge of this great tool. The ability to read will help change the students' lives in so many ways.
