This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a first year teacher so I am still starting out my classroom library. I want to make sure I provide students with an adequate library full of books that both reflect their identities and can serve as windows into other cultures and ethnicities.

I will use these books to help support my students in developing their reading comprehension.

We have silent reading time weekly where students get to read a book they enjoy. I also have English Language Learners in my class and having more picture books and shorter books will help them develop their English skills.
