Classroom Library for Students in Special Education

Help me give my students in special education with a classroom library in a rotating bookshelf to encourage them to read and improve their reading skills.

My Project

My middle school students with special needs struggle in reading fluency and comprehension. I believe that in order to address this problem, I need to motivate them to read. What is a better way to encourage them to read than to have their own classroom library?

My special education classroom library in a rotating bookshelf will motivate my students to engage in reading during class and during their free time.

With a good selection of books that will pique their interests, my students will have an absolute joy and will improve their reading skills at the same time.

Additionally, the reading fluency and reading comprehension activity books from second to fourth grade levels will provide my students with on-going practice exercises in reading sight words and short passages. They will improve their ability to answer text dependent questions, use context clues, and draw conclusions about the stories they read as well. I cannot wait to see how the classroom library will help enhance my students' reading levels in a very exciting way!
