Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are freshman high school students in a low income area. Many of them are from families of immigrants or are immigrants themselves, and they might be the first to graduate high school in their families.

My students are wonderful, hardworking, college-bound, individuals who deserve books that include and excite them!

They are amazing, and most come from a lower income background. As a result, they have not been able to always access books that may represent or interest them. This class library will give them the ability to begin to explore this facet of education that they need.

Books are an important learning tool for students. Books can exercise minds ways that other types of learning simply cannot. A lot of the times, students do not like reading simply because they have yet to read a book that speaks to them. The books I have chosen span the spectrum and will provide something for everyone in my class.
