My Project

My name is Alisia Richardson and I teach 8th grade Literacy at my school. 3 years ago, I inherited a classroom with shelves that were falling apart due to natural wear and tear. Some even have the backing of the shelf unattached. I have one beautiful giant bookshelf that serves as the beating heart of my classroom. I have always seen the potential in this historic, and well-loved classroom. Slowly over the years, I have been buying new shelves and bins to give new life to a classroom that has reading at its core. My goal is to always encourage reading as much as possible. I want to show my students just how nurturing and encouraging a fully stocked classroom library can be. I am very fortunate to have a local corporation donate a large amount of books to my classroom. My goal now is to give the bookshelves in this classroom a much-needed update and better functionality, as well as some new books. Please help me to bring life back into this old classroom!
