My Students

First grade is a big year for emerging readers. This is the grade that we hope they learn the joy of reading. They are eager learners, soaking up everything in front of them. My greatest accomplishment is giving that joy to my students.

My Project

I am requesting books that align with our reading and writing units. These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. With more options, I will be able to use more of my classroom titles during virtual learning.

All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind.

I have watched my first graders for the last twelve years, and I have chosen books that they will love and care for as they read. They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. This project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
