Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go." - Dr. Seuss My students are starting to show a love for reading and it is so exciting to see them excited to read new books everyday.

My students are a fun and bright bunch of kids who are finding more joy in learning than they ever have before.

Everything we do, we try to make hands on and use new materials they haven't seen before. Our school is transforming into a Leader in Me school. Our school culture uses the seven habits to make our school environment a place that everyone wants to join. As a class, we are always looking for opportunities to point out when we see the seven habits in daily life, in stories we read or in videos we watch.

My Project

Students in my class will use the wonderful books to earn more points through Accelerated Reader. When students reach a certain amount of points, they earn different recognitions. Reading everyday introduces children to rich vocabulary, which is something my students greatly benefit from being English Language Learners. Students also get a chance to improve their comprehension while enjoying new stories.

This will improve my students' lives by providing them as many opportunities as possible to have access to a variety of literature.

I want my students to leave my classroom with a love for reading.
