Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom library is a place where my students go to explore imaginary worlds in the pages of the books they can read independently. The classroom library area is also the place where I conduct read alouds for my students and I watch as they sit so absorbed in the stories I read to them. I strive to do book read alouds several times a week and my students eagerly remind me when that time of day is approaching.
The award winning book titles I have chosen for this project I have selected with my students' interests in mind.
I have enjoyed seeing how much my students enjoy being read to, and I want to provide my students with story books and a carpeted rug area where they can independently read and enjoy their classroom library.
The additional skills books requested in this project will also help my students improve their reading and grammar skills as they will provide the grade level skills needed to improve in their reading skills and comprehension.
