Help me give my students a classroom library filled with the latest and greatest books available - the books they deserve, the books they need, the books that might just turn them into lifelong readers.

My Project
In order to help my seventh-grade language arts students become lifelong readers, I would like to provide for our classroom library a wide variety of high-interest, high-quality literature—the latest and greatest nonfiction, novels, graphic novels, and manga.
Here at Poynter Middle School, in Hillsboro, Oregon, we're lucky to have as students each year some of the brightest and kindest human beings on the planet.
Seeing their earnest faces each day is truly a gift.
And we've seen what dedicated time for independent choice-reading can do for our students. Here's an excerpt from an email I recently received from a student:
"Hello Mr. Jones, I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for adding 'Everything, Everything' to our classroom library. I finished it around five minutes ago and oh my goodness it is such an unexpected turn of events that makes this book one of my favorites. So, thank you for adding it to my Favorites collection!"
What really works - what turns students into lifelong readers - is providing access to the very BEST books available. And this requires not only a teacher (me) who cares enough to find such books, but also the financial means to do so.
And that's why I'm turning to Donors Choose. Thank you so much.
