Help me give my students a classroom-based device to complete online assignments. Many students had their devices taken away post-pandemic, and are now at a disadvantage when it comes to online assignments.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
After the pandemic, many students had to return their devices to the city; however, much of education has moved to digital as a result of long term student absences and making lessons accessible to all regardless of their learning location. This has made online assignments very inaccessible to students without a home device. By having a high-speed laptop in our classroom, these students can now complete such assignments in school during lunch or free periods, which we could not support before.
This device will also help to support students who need to make up work from extended absences.
Here, they can view online videos, complete online assignments, and submit work to our digital classroom.
