it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember how hard it was to prepare for exams in school? For many students, they don't know where to start when it comes to studying. By helping us out, you can help out over 300 students each year review material prior to exams!
The students in my classes are mixed groups of 9-12 graders and come from all walks of life...some students have a hard time studying because they've never been taught how, don't have support at home, or are so busy helping out their families, they find it hard to fit in enough review time for assessments.
This is a great way to not only help ALL students prepare for unit exams and the final exam, but to help students retain more information, participate in class activities, work with their peers, AND have FUN!!
My Project
The Health class gets little to no funding each year, and with what little we do get, we try to use it for classroom materials or additional textbooks if needed. We don't usually have "extra" money to be able to obtain new items that are technology-based, and this would be a wonderful addition to our supplies and support the curriculum we are teaching. We learn many different topics related to health, and many students are learning things such as healthy eating habits, the effects of alcohol, drugs and tobacco, and other important topics for the first time! This much information can be overwhelming but the Jeopardy resources can help us support their academic and studying needs!!
These students are "my kids"....I spend as much of my own money as I can to create activities, provide materials and help support the students academically....unfortunately, its not enough and I want to help my students learn and have fun in my class!!
I want them to look forward to attending my class and get excited for the next lesson we'll be doing!
