This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Who doesn't want to be on TV? With Classroom Jeopardy, everyone gets to feel like a celebrity! My kids love to have fun while learning. They are constantly asking me, "Do you have a game that we can play for this lesson?" Classroom Jeopardy's the real deal. This game has all the bells and whistles!
I teach sixth grade in a high-poverty school in California.
My students haven't had the exposure to the learning experiences that I had in my elementary days, and this frustrates me. Every year the budget cuts are worse than the year before. I hate having to explain to my students that the reason they don't have things in the classroom is because of the budget cuts. My students are hard workers, and take pride in their learning.
My Project
Classroom Jeopardy will show my students that learning is fun and that it is alright to have friendly, competitive learning experiences in the classroom. Allowing students to play with a state of the art game that is flashy, bright, and electronic would be a treat! My students need to know that they are worth more than just teacher created games made out of index cards and construction paper. I want my students to dream big, and to realize that is is possible for them to one day be so smart that they could end up on an educational game show. Knowledge is power, and Classroom Jeopardy is just a fantastic tool to help motivate students along the educational path.
By having an additional score board this will allow my class of 40 to play in teams of 6, with approximately 6-7 students per team.
Without the extra score board we will be playing/competing with 3 teams of approximately 13-14 students per team. Huge difference!
