Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the opportunity to teach children with a range of disabilities from Downs Syndrome to Intellectual Disability. My classroom represents students who have diverse needs and different backgrounds. Our main focus in the classroom is to help each student meet their goals successfully.

My Project

Many of my students are unable to access technology in a traditional way due to their fine motor skill deficits. Allowing them to use an iPad with a touch-screen allows them to use their fingers instead of having to use a mouse which many of them are not yet able to do. There are many applications that will meet my students where they are at and will allow them to master their independent goals.

Providing my students with iPads and headphones will allow them to access technology that they will be able to use independently.

I believe that every student should be given an equal opportunity and this will allow my students to have that.
