Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember getting your name written on the board? The check marks? My students need a better behavior management system that will let them know at a glance how they are doing at all times and what they are responsible for in the classroom.
My students are enthusiastic English Language Learners who come from a high need community with a lot of heart.
Students at my school speak Chinese and Spanish but they are all learning English. They need many visuals to help them learn English. These charts will really help them to see how and what they need to be doing.
My Project
The classroom management charts will really benefit my students by providing a quick and easy visual of how they are behaving in class. It will be easy for any teacher to take over a room because the chart will have their photos on it as well as three color chart. Green representing good work, yellow, warning-change your behavior,and red- unacceptable behavior with consequence. Each teacher will know this system and will not need to know names or discuss consequences with students saving time and improving student performance in class.
The classroom helper chart will also help manage the class in a positive way by ending arguments over equity- for example who passes out paper, recycles, composts, opens the door, checks the lights will all be rotated evenly and fairly.
This will help make our school greener and a much happier place to teach and learn in!
