Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Teenagers seem to never be out of energy (except when I try to make them do actual English work). There is so much to keep their minds occupied on anything besides their schoolwork- friends, what's for lunch, sports, who likes who, who's not talking to each other, etc. Additionally, their brains are still developing! All of that together makes it hard for them to focus in a classroom full of their peers.
A classroom set of headphones would provide opportunities to help students focus during class in a few different ways.
For one, it would allow them to listen to music while working. Listening to music helps them block out what else is going on around them, and block out the random thoughts and worries that come along with being a teenager navigating our world today.
Another way it can help them focus is by allowing them to receive the right level of work. When the content and assignment are too hard or too easy for a student, they lose focus. They feel they can't do it so they focus on other fun things, or it's so easy their brain is bored so they also seek out something to stimulate their brain. A set of classroom headphones would enable me as a teacher to assign different work to students via the computer with videos and recordings, that suit that student's academic needs. Putting on a pair of headphones allows one student who may be struggling with the content to watch a video with a more in-depth explanation while another student is watching a video that extends the content to a higher level.
