My Project

Every classroom, even an English classroom, should have a musical instrument. I have students who can play and share, but need that instrument in class. For a recent project, a student chose to write a song about immigration issues. Having a guitar would turbo charge this type of creativity. He'd be able to workshop his song with peers and be ready for our class presentations.

A guitar is also another opportunity for students to show their knowledge and passion in ways not always validated in academic classrooms.

This can create new chances for discovery, camaraderie and joy.
