Classroom Furniture

My Students

I have 20 wonderful students. The range in age from 3 to 5 years-old. My students represent a wide range of backgrounds. The school district is made up of 52% Hispanic, 35% African American, and 22% Caucasian. A few of my students are learning English, with Spanish being their primary language. They are very eager to learn and they deserve the best of the best!

My students are little sponges.

They are soaking in everything they learn. They are very excited to learn and grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Since they are very young, they need hands-on experiences to aid in their learning. They love to learn through play. Play is vital to the learning process for early childhood.

These students would greatly benefit from your donation. We are in great need of tools to assist their learning. Thank your for taking the time to read.

My Project

I am asking for furniture for my pre-k classroom. This is my first year in the classroom. We do not have magnetic boards, white boards, paper organizers, or teaching easels. The tools I have asked for will help me teach my little students.

I will use the magnetic dry erase board for whole group instruction.

It is important that I have an easel that is mobile and magnetic. I use it to demonstrate crafts, writing, coloring, etc. I will use the pocket chart stand for centers and interactive calendar sessions. For example, I will use rhyming puzzles. On the top of the pocket chart I will have one piece of a puzzle that says cat. The student will locate the appropriate piece at the bottom of the chart that has the word that rhymes with cat. Also, it is great for visual schedules, abc charts, and an interactive number pocket chart I need to display. I will use the storage organizers to organize construction paper. This will make finding the appropriate color quick and easy.

Thank you for donating to my project. It will make my job as a teacher easier. It will allow the students more learning opportunities that they deserve. They are worth it!
