Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school that has kids who come from all backgrounds. They have limited resources at home, but they still try their best to come to school ready to learn and tackle the day. They love to read and are excited when they reach new levels of learning.

Students in our class are taught to use what they know to figure out what they don't know.

Trying your best is better than a right answer and talking about mistakes is a way to learn.

My Project

I need EXPO pens to do all of our thinking and to make sure the kids have enough to last the whole year. I also like to give out prizes weekly with Class Dojo. Students like the incentives and it helps keep them on track throughout the day. It gives them something to look forward to and rewards their good behavior without having a too harsh consequence for making bad choices.

I also need masks because little faces have a tendency to come back from recess without one.

While the school provides masks, they are out of the child size often.
