Help me give my students the gift of art! Painting will help my students connect their learning to their creativity, and having the Richeson Slightly Imperfect Brush set will allow them to display their creativity on canvas.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have completed my first year of teaching in the 5th grade, and it was a spectacular year! We learned so much from each other, and at the end of the year, we were not ready to say so long. Now that I am moving on to my second year, I feel amazing about what the year holds.
When my students enter my classroom, I want them to feel welcomed and supported in their learning environment.
I will encourage them to explore and stretch their thinking beyond what they believe they can do. I will push them to be their best and will support them so they can continue being the positive light in our community.
I am excited to meet my fresh 5th graders, many of whom I met previously, and they are a fantastic group of students. They appreciate their teachers and their hard work and I will work diligently to continue the positive educational path they are on to ready them for their new journey into middle school.
My Project
We do quite a bit of hands-on learning, and studies have shown that students connect with their learning when they are able to express it through art. Not only does it help them recall information, but it allows me to see their learning and creativity through their point of view.
Through creative expression, we are able to create constellations, ecosystems, images that match our writing, and even math diagrams.
Having the supplies such as different size brushes and oil pastels will give my students the resources they need to tap into this expressive outlet. The pride on their faces when they create a work of art is remarkable, and it is my goal to have them experience that as much as possible.
